The Bi-Gel technology

A semi-solid dosage form based on the intimate mixture of an oleogel and an aqueous gel for topical and transdermal applications. Bi-Gel products are based on a surfactant-free formula and can accommodate both lipophilic and water soluble drugs. A hormone based product developed by APTYS Pharmaceuticals for Ardana Bioscience reached a clinical phase III in the US.

The Bi-Gel source patent is held by Ardana Bioscience and licences were granted to APTYS Pharmaceuticals.
